Harry Potter-Inspired Eyeshadow Palette // Review

I know I’m a bit late to the Wizardry and Witchcraft Palette train, but I finally got my hands on this beauty and (as an embarrassingly huge Harry Potter fan) I’m so excited!

For those who might not know, this palette is by Storybook Cosmetics, a wonderful company that makes beautiful, cruelty-free fiction-inspired make up and tools – you can get matching wand shaped make up brushes SWEET LORD.

This particular eyeshadow palette, as you can probably tell from the title, is inspired by Harry Potter! The colours are magical, as are the names (Bewitched, Merlin, Potions, etc). I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to get my hands on a make up product before.

The first thing I want to comment on his how stunning the packaging is. Storybook Cosmetics really put so much love and detail into the design. It all comes in a material bag with their logo on the front (I can’t decide whether I’ll keep the palette inside it, or re-use it for storing other loose bits and pieces!) and a protective sleeve over the front that replicates the front of the palette.

Storybook 1

The palette is designed to look like a book, which I think is a clever nod to the brand name. I also received a Storybook Cosmetics bookmark with my purchase which again I think is a lovely touch.

Speaking practically, the lid is magnetic which I love, and has a big mirror on the inside – you have my eternal love for this! I don’t have a lot of palettes, but the ones I do own don’t have a mirror, or at least a mirror of this size so that had me extra excited when I saw it.

Now, into the quality of the eyeshadow itself.

I can’t say I’ve used all the colours. In fact, I have only used 3 – Sorcerer, Bewitched and Charms – but based off these I am wholly in love. The glittery colours aren’t at all gritty which I have found with some shimmery eyeshadows before, and they are all so pigmented. A small amount goes a long way with these, as I found out pretty fast when I tried to apply what I thought was a normal amount of the Sorcerer eyeshadow and ended up feeling like a clown. Overall, the consistency and the colours are BEAUTIFUL and I definitely think it’s worth the money, especially if you’re a Harry Potter fan as the novelty of the palette adds to the experience of using it too.

Let me know what you think of this palette and what colours are your favourite ♡

No, I actually think it’s an American company! I just got it off a website that delivers to the UK that stocks loads of different make-up brands. If you’re interested in it, there’s a link at the end of my blog post to their .com site, you should definitely check it out, it’s beautiful!

They’re so pretty but I feel the same, I think I’d end up having them on display rather than using them which is rather pointless haha!
