The Body Coach’s Cashew Energy Balls | Recipes

I recently had a bit of a baking frenzy and made a couple of different things (banana bread, these energy balls, and a chocolate popcorn recipe that should be up next week). Two of these are recipes from The Body Coach, specifically his fat loss cookbook. I’ve always want to try energy balls as they look so easy to make, and I’m glad I chose these ones!

They have dates and coconut in them, both of which I love! They’re very quick to make and all you need is a food blender, or I used a nutri-bullet and it worked really well.

Energy Balls 1


2 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp cashew butter
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
100g cashew nuts
50g desiccated coconut
100g dates, de-stoned & chopped


Melt the coconut oil. Once melted, stir in the maple syrup, cashew butter and cinnamon until combined.

Put the cashews in a food processor (or a nutri bullet in my case) until finely chopped. Transfer to a bowl and add half the desiccated coconut.

Add the dates and cashew butter mixture to the food processor next, and mix until you get a paste.

Add and mix this into the cashew nut mixture. Now your mixture is ready!

Pour the other half of the desiccated coconut onto a plate, and roll your mixture into balls and roll them in the coconut. This recipe should make 16 balls, but mine made 12 as I must have rolled them a little bit bigger.

Chill in the fridge for around 1 hour, and then they’re ready to eat!
