The Body Coach’s Chocolate Orange Popcorn Bars | Recipes

This is another recipe from The Body Coach, specially his fat loss cookbook. I thought this would have a crunchy consistency, but it was actually quite soft having mixed the popcorn in with the melted chocolate.

Even so, I really enjoyed it so I thought I would share with you guys, too!

Popcorn 9

Ingredients:

1/4 tsp coconut oil (however, I ended up using a lot more)
3 tbsp popping corn (I accidentally used more than this also, and ended up with loads of leftover popcorn – not complaining)
150g dark chocolate
75g butter
75g golden syrup
4 tsp orange zest (I used 1 whole orange)
40g white chocolate (I skipped this part)

Method:

Melt the coconut oil in a pan, add the popping corn and cover with a lid. Shake the pan frequently until the corn has popped. I tend to judge it by around 3 seconds between pops.

Popcorn 5

Place the dark chocolate, syrup and butter in a glass bowl over a pan of simmering water. Stir until melted. Once melted, add the orange zest and mix in.

Popcorn 4

Mix the popcorn with the chocolate until coated. Prepare a tray or tin with baking paper and press the popcorn into the tray. Chill in the fridge for 1-2 hours.

Popcorn 3

At this point, you would melt the white chocolate and drizzle it on top but I ended up not doing this part. But now your chocolate orange popcorn bars are ready to eat!
